     Bryn Mawr Reviews comprises (as of July 1993) two separate
journals offering reviews of current books in the fields of Greek
and Latin Classics (Bryn Mawr Classical Review [BMCR]) and of
Medieval Studies (Bryn Mawr Medieval Review [BMMR]).
     Because some reviews of broad interest are distributed to
both BMCR and BMMR, we offer the option of subscribing to 
BMR so as to avoid duplications.  There is no separate BMR *per se*, 
but those who subscribe to it will receive all Internet transmissions
of BMCR and BMMR.  

     Reviews are serially numbered by year, month, and item
number, thus 93.9.4 would be the fourth review distributed in
September 1993.  The present file will be shipped on the first of
each month to all subscribers to identify the editorial staff and
to provide basic information of use to subscribers.  Books for
review by BMCR may be sent to Professor Hamilton, Department of
Greek, Bryn Mawr College, Bryn Mawr PA  19010; books for BMMR may
be sent to Professor Paul Remley, Department of English GN-30,
University of Washington, Seattle WA  98195; correspondence with
any of the editors is encouraged.

TO SUBSCRIBE to BMMR or BMCR alone:

     Send mail message to listserv@cc.brynmawr.edu with
     nothing on the subject line and the single message
     line:  SUBSCRIBE BMCR-L Your Name; or else
     SUBSCRIBE BMMR-L Your Name.  

TO SUBSCRIBE TO BMMR *and* BMCR (new subscribers):
     
     Send mail message to listserv@cc.brynmawr.edu with
     nothing on the subject line and the single message
     line:  SUBSCRIBE BMR-L Your Name

INSTRUCTIONS FOR current BMCR SUBSCRIBERS:

     If you wish to subscribe to both journals, go ahead and send
     the message to listserv@cc.brynmawr.edu for BMR-L just
     described, but add a second line UNSUB BMCR-L.  If you 
     are told you can't unsubscribe, please refer the error
     message to jod@ccat.sas.upenn.edu -- this will happen
     most often to people who subscribed to BMCR some time
     ago from Bitnet addresses.

BACK ISSUES

     There will be no separate archive for BMR.  Instead, back
     issues of both BMCR and BMMR will be maintained for
     anonymous ftp and WAIS-indexed gopher access by the Alderman
     Library e-text center of the University of Virginia.  If you
     do not have regular gopher access, then telnet to
     ccat.sas.upenn.edu, give "gopher" as your login, and choose
     menu item 8 to see a listing of available electronic
     journals including this one.  To point your own gopher at
     this resource, use the following information.

     Information for BMMR is identical except for the name of the
     journal and for the path (which thus reads
     Path=1/alpha/bmmr).
